SERDANG, 29 June – Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), through its Centre for Co-curriculum and Student Development (PKPP), in collaboration with the Insan Development Club (INSAN), organised the 2025 Financial Leadership Discourse: From Campus to Life (WAKE 2025) to promote financial literacy awareness among university students.
The programme, held in cooperation with the Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency (AKPK) and Now Asia International Sdn. Bhd, aimed to equip students with essential financial management knowledge as preparation for entering the workforce.

The Director of PKPP, Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Mursyid Arshad, said WAKE 2025 served as a practical training platform for students to plan their spending wisely, while also fostering self-leadership skills to prevent serious financial issues at a young age.
“Through this programme, students not only learn techniques for managing their finances but also develop leadership, communication, and human values to make sound financial decisions,” he said.
Programme director Amira Farhana Sallehuddin said one of the programme’s highlights was the Cashflow financial simulation competition, which allowed participants to experience the challenges of managing finances in real-life career scenarios.
“This simulation opened our eyes to the importance of planning cash flow and making informed financial decisions for the future,” she said.

The programme also served as the selection platform for four national winners of the Cashflow competition, who will go on to represent Malaysia at the National Achievers Congress 2025 in Singapore this August. This opportunity allows students to build international networks in the fields of finance and leadership.
