UPM Serdang, 26 August – The Internal Audit Division of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) continues to strengthen its role as a reference center in the field of auditing by organizing a special workshop on auditing methods in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) environment. The program was held from 26 to 27 August 2025 and involved the participation of eight officers from the Internal Audit Unit, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).

The learning and knowledge-sharing session was delivered by Mr. Mohd Azis Abdullah, Head of ICT and Performance Section, Internal Audit Division UPM, assisted by Ms. Nurfarah Hanani Abdul Hamed. Both speakers shared their experience and expertise through an interactive and practical approach to ensure participants gained a deeper understanding of ICT auditing methods and techniques relevant to current challenges.
Among the topics highlighted were ICT governance management, cybersecurity controls, policy compliance, and the use of application systems in universities. Participants were also given the opportunity to apply the knowledge through case discussions and audit simulations that reflected real-life scenarios.
In addition, participants were brought to visit the Farm Fresh UPM Farm as part of the program activities, aimed at strengthening networking and providing added value to their overall experience. The visit enriched the program by giving participants the opportunity to become more familiar with UPM’s environment.
The two-day workshop not only strengthened strategic collaboration between UPM and UUM in the field of auditing but also demonstrated the commitment of both institutions to enhance competencies and add value in ICT-based audit management, in line with technological advancements and current requirements.
