Serdang, 10 February 2026 – Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) organised the PUTRA Sihat 10,000 Langkah 1.0 UPM programme on 10 February 2026 as an initiative to promote a healthy lifestyle and enhance holistic well-being among members of the university community. The programme received participation from staff across various Responsibility Centres, reflecting strong support for the university’s efforts to encourage physical activity and raise awareness on the importance of health care and well-being.
The Internal Audit Division also participated in the programme, represented by Siti Noratyirah Kamit. This participation reflects the division’s commitment to supporting the university’s initiatives in fostering an active and healthy lifestyle among staff.
The programme commenced at 2.30 p.m. at the UPM Parade Ground through the strategic collaboration of several university entities, namely the Akademi Sukan, Pusat Kesihatan Universiti, Pusat Strategi dan Perhubungan Korporat and Pusat Wakaf, Zakat dan Infak. The programme aimed to emphasise the importance of obesity prevention while increasing awareness of the rising costs of healthcare.
Throughout the programme, participants had the opportunity to complete a 10,000-step walk while enjoying the conducive environment of the university campus. This activity not only helped improve physical fitness but also contributed to mental well-being and strengthened camaraderie among members of the university community.
The programme concluded at 5.00 p.m. with encouraging participation and a positive impact on the participants, further supporting the cultivation of a sustainable healthy lifestyle among the university community.
