October 17, 2024, Serdang: The SIRIM recertification audit for the Quality Management System (QMS) ISO 9001:2015 and Information Security Management System (ISMS) ISO/IEC 27001:2013 for the year 2024 was conducted by auditors from SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bhd at Universiti Putra Malaysia from October 14, 2024, to October 23, 2024.

The Internal Audit Division of UPM was selected for evaluation by SIRIM on October 17, 2024, and was audited by the Chief Auditor, Ms. Nur Hana Roshida Hairudin, for one day for the certification of the Quality Management System (QMS) ISO 9001:2015. This audit aimed to assess UPM’s compliance with the standards set by the certification body.

Through this evaluation, Universiti Putra Malaysia generally received a positive impact on the quality of services offered, enhancing the university’s reputation nationally and internationally, and enabling improvements to achieve better effectiveness in operational processes by identifying current weaknesses. This SIRIM audit also provided opportunities for continuous improvement, driving innovation in the implementation of procedures and more effective use of resources.

Previously, the Internal Audit Division also conducted a self-assessment through cross-reviews among Responsibility Centers under the Office of the Vice-Chancellor entity to ensure compliance with the standards. This audit process also raised awareness among employees and stakeholders about the importance of adhering to quality standards and added value by ensuring that all parties understand and implement the correct processes to achieve higher quality standards.

Congratulations to all members of the Internal Audit Division of UPM for their high commitment and cooperation throughout the audit implementation. Overall, no non-conformance reports (NCR) were found during the audit, and Ms. Nur Hana Roshida Hairudin was satisfied with the quality assurance management implementation in the Internal Audit Division.
