UPM Serdang, June 7, 2024 - The inaugural Food Security Carnival 2024 was held at the Main Hall, Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Cultural and Arts Centre (PKKSSAAS) , UPM.

The carnival was held for the purpose of launching the Food Security Blueprint by UPM. In addition, there are activities organised by UPM including urban agriculture demonstrations, exhibitions focusing on crops, livestock and current technologies as well as the sale of agricultural products.

The launch of the Blueprint was officiated by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM), YB Datuk Seri Haji Mohamad bin Sabu as well as the Minister of Higher Education (MOHE), YB Senator Dato' Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry bin Abd Kadir. The blueprint theme is PUTRA Agriculture for the People.

The Internal Audit Division also participated in the carnival as a sign of support and commitment towards programme organised by UPM. The staff of the Internal Audit Division who were directly involved as liaison officers were Mrs. Nur Miera Kamarudin, Mrs. Marziati Md. Din and also Mr. Mohd Faiz Suparman.

The Internal Audit staff was also involved in the forum session which was also held that morning entitled UPM Inclusiveness, Nurturing Agriculture and Food Security.

The forum was lined up by a panel represented by TKSU KPKM, UPM ViceChancellor (VC), Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Farm Fresh and moderated by the Director of ITAFoS UPM.
