Serdang, 12 June 2026 – The Internal Audit Division, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), organised the Brisk Walk + Plogging AD 1.0 Programme on 12 June 2026, with the participation of nine (9) staff members. The activity started at 4.17 p.m. and ended at around 5.20 p.m.
This programme combined brisk walking with plogging, an activity that involves picking up litter while exercising, which is increasingly gaining attention as a form of responsibility towards environmental sustainability.
The selected route was Route 4, covering the Academic Complex and Dusun Contoh UPM, with a total distance of 2.4 kilometres. Participants began their walk from the Internal Audit Division before passing through several key areas of the campus, including Lorong Asam Jawa, the Faculty of Forestry, i-Putra and the Faculty of Educational Studies, before returning to the starting point.

One of the highlights of the programme was the route through Dusun Contoh, Taman Pertanian Universiti and Dusun Humphrey UPM. Along the route, participants were given a brief explanation by UPM Assistant Agriculture Officer, Mr Ahmad Rodhi bin Kamaludin, on the surrounding orchard areas and plants. Participants also had the opportunity to taste local produce, providing them with a direct experience of engaging with the campus agricultural environment.

The programme provided various benefits to participants, including improving cardiovascular health through brisk walking, supporting physical and mental well-being, and fostering a shared sense of responsibility towards maintaining the cleanliness of the campus environment.
The organisation of the Brisk Walk + Plogging AD 1.0 Programme reflects the commitment of UPM’s Internal Audit Division to promoting a healthy lifestyle, environmental awareness and teamwork among its staff, in line with the motto “Reduce Our Footprint, Increase Our Impact.”
This programme will be continued as a regular activity of the Internal Audit Division as part of its ongoing efforts to support the sustainable campus agenda and the well-being of UPM staff.
