UPM SERDANG, 20 March 2025 – The Basic Course on Government Procurement (Supply and Services) organized by the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur has been successfully implemented online for two (2) days, starting on 19 March and ending on 20 March 2025. In conjunction with the month of Ramadan, the course mode has been changed from face-to-face training to online training.
This course aims to raise awareness on the importance of Government procurement as well as the responsibilities of civil servants in ensuring that procurement management is implemented with transparency, integrity and compliance with current regulations. In addition, this course also helps to improve the skills of civil servants in managing the procurement of supplies and services systematically in accordance with the regulations in force.
This course was attended by more than 400 participants from various government agencies including the Federal Government, State Government, Statutory Bodies, Local Authorities and Government Link Companies. The speaker was from INTAN Bukit Kiara, Mr. Kasim bin Muhamad who is a Senior Training Consultant at the School of Economics and Administration (PEKA).
The session was attended by two (2) representatives of UPM's Internal Audit Division, namely En. Mohd Faiz Suparman and En. Mohd Syairol Azwan Shabudin. The explanations provided through this course are beneficial and align with the new structuring and assignments in the Internal Audit Division of UPM.
This 2-day course provides comprehensive exposure to the methods and procedures of Government procurement, particularly in the aspects of efficient and integrity-driven management of supply and service procurement. The knowledge gained will also assist the Internal Audit Division in evaluating procurement governance that is more systematic, transparent, and guided by the latest established regulations.
