  1. What is the impact of domestic and foreign investment in Selangor rather than the decline in the value of the Ringgit?

In this uncertain economic situation and the current decline in the value of the Ringgit, basically it gives the impression of investment activities either directly or indirectly, such as;-

 

Immediate Impression.

The initial investment fee becomes more competitive for foreign investors because the value of foreign currency is higher than the value of the Malaysian Ringgit.

The increase in expenditure costs was due to the high import prices of raw materials due to the fall in the value of the Malaysian Ringgit.

 

Indirect Impression

Factory closure

Structuring the company to reduce the company's operating costs.

Suspension of plans for new consolidation or additional consolidation.

 

Downsizing the workforce or laying off workers for affected industries.

Slow down the growth of other sectors such as real estate, retail, transportation and other support industries.

What is the sector that is providing return on investment to Selangor, nowadays?

2. Based on the passing statistics of a refinery project in Negeri Selangor for the period January to March 2016, the rubber-based product manufacturing industry recorded the highest number of refining with a refining value of RM 222,795,972 This was followed by the food product manufacturing industry with a refining value of RM 203,045,450 and the non-metal based product manufacturing industry with RM 129,685,505.

 

3. What is the action plan of the Kingdom of Selangor in switching from 'labor intensive' industries to 'high tech' industries?

Among the action plans of the Kingdom of Selangor in switching the Labor Intensive industry to the High Tech industry are as follows;-

Providing the Selangor Industrial Master Plan as a guide and direction for industrial development in the State of Selangor.

Focus on selected industrial sectors that have the potential to develop in the State of Selangor, such as;-

  1. Electronic & Electrical Goods Manufacturing Industry
  2. Vehicle Completeness Goods Manufacture Industry
  3. Food Product Manufacturing Industry
  4. Life Science Goods Manufacture Industry
  5. Manufacture of Technical & Mechanical Goods (Machine & Machinery)

Promote the use of automation in production processes to reduce dependence on busy labor sources.

Providing industrial areas that are conducive and complete with infrastructure that meets the wishes and needs of investors or industrial parties.
