COVID-19, a name that's quite scary to all humanity in the world. Every day, the increasing number of infections and casualties of the coronavirus is alarming.
In fact, the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the country are small, almost paralyzing the world economy. Universiti Putra Malaysia Department of Economics Lecturer Associate Professor Dr Mohd Yusof Saari shared a chart on the impact of COVID-19 on the economy and how the PRIHATIN stimulus package can help.
He said COVID-19 had impacted the people's economy through three channels, namely :
(i) a decline in export demand,
(ii) a decline in domestic demand and
(iii) the impact of the implementation of the Movement Control Order (CPP).
He believes these three channels have a profound impact on the people depending on their income group, urban or rural and formal or informal employment sectors.
