UPM SERDANG, 25 January 2022 – The audit group from the Information Technology and Generation Section, Internal Audit Division of UPM has went for a field work at the International Institute of Aquaculture and Aquatic Science (I-AQUAS) in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan for audit work related to the management of fish farming/aquaculture.
I-AQUAS is a research institute that was upgraded from the Marine Science Center on 15 December 2017 and offers a research platform in various disciplines related to aquaculture and aquatic science. The institute has two laboratories: the Sustainable Aquaculture Laboratory (AquaLab) and the Aquatic Ecosystem and Management Laboratory (EkosistemLab).
The audit group was welcomed by I-AQUAS’s management team led by Prof. Associate Dr. Murni Marlina Abd Karim (Head of Laboratory), Mrs. Nur Syahirah Ibrahim (Assistant Registrar) and several other officers involved. Throughout the visit, the audit group was briefed on the background, operational and generation activities available at I-AQUAS. The audit group also took the opportunity to visit the hatchery facilities at I-AQUAS led by Hatchery Unit Coordinator, Mr Fakharulddin Ismail.
